Atlanta BeltLine

Over the past weekend, I was on vacation to get together with family in Atlanta.  One of my favorite places I visited was the Atlanta BeltLine.  The Atlanta BeltLine is a 22-mile loop that was based on railroad corridors that used to border Atlanta.  It is currently one of the largest and wide-ranging urban redevelopment programs that is currently underway here in the United States.

I started the path from one of many parking lots nearby.  The Atlanta BeltLine was a long, windy snakelike pathway that visitors could travel through.  While the attraction was established for hiking trails, there are many new and developing residential properties all around.  Some were old while some were rejuvenated for a more modern appearance.  There is so much to discover within this exciting pathway.

Besides residential units, there was amazing art pieces to discover.  People utilized certain materials (spray paint, wires) to craft their masterpieces for everyone to see.  Colorful graffiti was painted all along the walls, with street artists marking their territory.  It was the perfect kind of outdoor entertainment to enjoy.

But the entertainment didn’t stop there – restaurants and shops surround the trail as well.  There was even a microbrewery called New Realm Brewery that featured a rooftop bar on the premises.  You can get your craft beer while roaming through this popular attraction.

One first major stop was the Ponce City Market.  Ponce City Market was a major shopping mall on the BeltLine.  Visitors stop by here for shopping, dining, and even check out artwork from some local artists.  You can even grab a beer, wine, or even a cocktail while browsing through the area.  The Ponce City Market was definitely a major highlight of the Atlanta BeltLine.

The Atlanta BeltLine was my favorite attraction this past weekend.  I was excited to see what this snakelike path would lead me to, only to be led into an area full of entertainment.  There were many people conducting business near the path (heck, I even met a woman who is writing over hundreds of poems about the BeltLine!).  It was quite a long walk, but definitely worth the cardio activity.

Anyone heading into Atlanta should definitely check out The Atlanta BeltLine during their visit.  It’s a popular snakelike path that features all sorts of indoor (and outdoor) activities.  You definitely don’t want to miss out on all of the fun happening along the path.

While I do miss being in Atlanta, I won’t forget the amount of joy I felt walking through The Atlanta BeltLine.  I will definitely be sure to return to this entertainment pathway soon.
