Netflix Highlights for April 2016

Netflix is one of the best streaming services for binge-watching your favorite shows and movies.  The company updates the playlist with chock full of TV series and movies each month.  New TV series/movies means that Netflix cleans out its playlist of old programs that audiences don’t watch anymore.  April has been a promising month for Netflix streamers, what with a few original series and classic films to binge watch.  Here are a few notable featured series/films that you’ll want to binge-watch after a hard day at the office:

The Ranch: The Ranch stars Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson as two brothers working in their father’s ranch in Colorado.  This original Netflix series premiered with 10 episodes on April 1st with the next 10 episodes released later on. Colt Bennett returns from the ranch after abandoning the family 15 years ago.  Bennett comes back to salvage the family’s ranch, which has been suffering some serious economic problems.  His older brother Jameson “Rooster” Bennett and father Beau (played by Sam Elliott) are shocked to see him again after not seeing him for years.  Follow the life of these stubborn ranch men in Colorado with this raunchy sitcom series.

            Cuckoo Season 3: Cuckoo is a British Sitcom series revolving around Dale “Cuckoo” Ashbrick, an eccentric American hippy who turns his family’s life upside-down with his loving attitude and love for drugs.  Taylor Lautner takes over as Dale Jr., Cuckoo’s estranged son who moves in with the family.  It’ll be interesting to see where the series goes after a surprising departure from one of the characters! Tune in on April 15 for season 3 of Cuckoo.

            Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 2: Two words: PINOT NOIR! Tina Fey’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt returns with a new season of Kimmy’s life in the Big Apple.  Kimmy Schmidt escapes from the doomsday cult in Indiana and starts her new adventure with Titus Andromendon in New York City.  So grab your best Pinot Noir bottle and tune into the new season on April 15th.

            2001: A Space Odyssey: For those that are looking for a classic movie on a Friday night, 2001: A Space Odyssey is the way to go.  Stanley Kubrick’s award-winning films takes viewers into Jupiter, where the meet the infamous computer HAL.  Viewers will enjoy a ride in this trippy sci-fi film that is currently streaming on Netflix.

            A Clockwork Orange: This ultra-violent film set in a dystopian future is another classic film by Stanley Kubrick.  Alex DeLarge and his fellow “droogs” engage in acts of senseless ultra-violence in the streets of London. Both this and 2001: A Space Odyssey are currently out now.
